Ways To Give: Donate

For over 13 years, Scottie’s Place has assisted hundreds of children affected by poverty and homelessness by providing transformative educational and challenge-based programs! Our success is yours to celebrate as well. Gifts from dedicated donors have supported the many labors of Scottie’s Place: teaching, mentoring and outreach; facility building and stewardship of this magical land. In these difficult economic times when more children are experiencing greater degrees of poverty, Scottie’s Place is grateful for your help in empowering, educating and enlivening our most vulnerable children. Thank you for sharing our vision of an equitable world for all children and for investing in the children of Scottie’s Place. Your gift today brings hope for a brighter future for all of the children we serve.

Checks should be made payable to Scottie’s Place.

Give Stock: When you transfer a stock to charity you avoid capital gains tax and receive an income tax deduction for the value of the stock on the date of transfer. Stock gifts can be transferred easily: Scottie’s Place will provide you with routing numbers and simple instructions. Upon completion of the transfer, a receipt will be sent to ensure proper credit for the donation. Please contact Jo-El at jwadsworth@scottiesplace.org or 304-753-5701.

Remember the Children of Scottie’s Place in your Will: Create a legacy that matches your life’s goals. Ensure a lifetime of hope for needy children by leaving a bequest for Scottie’s Place in your will. Bequests can be designated as a percentage of your total estate; a specific dollar amount or asset (e.g. property, life insurance policy or shares); or as a remainder of your estate after all other bequests have been granted. Please consult your attorney when making estate provisions.

Suggested wording for bequests in wills or trusts: “I give and bequeath to Scottie’s Place, Incorporated (tax I.D. number 31-1672573) ___________________ (insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or description of securities or property, etc.) to be used for its general purposes (or insert the name of a program).”

We welcome you to share your estate plans with Scottie’s Place so that we may thank you and recognize your intentions appropriately. Please contact Jo-El at jwadsworth@scottiesplace.org or 304-753-5701.

Hold a Fundraiser: Fundraising parties at school, church, club or business, benefit concerts, Box-a-Thons, golf and poker tournaments, birthday parties and letter-writing campaigns have all been employed to benefit Scottie’s Place and the children we serve. Please contact Scottie’s Place at info@scottiesplace.org or 304-753-5701 and we will guide you through the process of creating a successful event.
