Tax Credits Awarded to Scottie’s Place
Scottie’s Place, located in Peterstown, West Virginia, has been awarded nearly $10,000 in tax credits from the West Virginia Office of Development Neighborhood Investment Program. Scottie’s Place provides a wide range of year-round programs for homeless and impoverished children. Monies raised through the distribution of these tax credits will provide scholarships for local at-risk youth to attend adventure-based and educational programs at Scottie’s Place. Donors who make a minimum donation of $500 to Scottie’s Place will receive $250 in tax credits which can be used to reduce the tax liability on corporate net income tax, business franchise tax or personal income tax. Donors may use the tax credits all at once for the tax year of 2010 or within a five year period.
