FOUNDERS

Paul and Jo-El

Paul Winter is a graduate of Cornell University, with a degree in social work. He has had eighteen years experience as a social worker for children and adults with a wide range of special needs.

Jo-El Wadsworth is a graduate of Wells College, with a degree in theology and psychology. She has designed and led women's wilderness retreat programs in Upstate New York.

Together, Paul and Jo-El have home-schooled four children for fourteen years.

Jo-El and Paul worked for five years to create an intentional community in New York State. The focus of the community was simple living, self-sufficiency and environmental awareness. Jo-El and Paul are wilderness guides and survival experts. They have taught apprentices, led tours for school children and community organizations, and held workshops in public schools in New York and Florida detailing the nature of their pioneer lifestyle.
