Scottie’s Place is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with the mission to empower, educate and enliven impoverished, homeless and at-risk children. All of our programs are offered free of charge to all participants and are funded by private, civic, corporate, foundation and church-based charitable donations.

Established in 1999 as a year-round therapeutic adventure camp in the mountains of West Virginia, Scottie’s Place has served over four hundred children from homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters and impoverished families, providing residential and day programs for children from five states and Washington, D.C.

Scottie’s Place expanded its programs in 2007 to address the academic needs of the children we serve and now provides academic and experiential education and therapeutic wilderness adventure for needy children, year-round. In an environment that strengthens and inspires, our adventure and academic programs are committed to the healing, growth and success of our most vulnerable children.
