Scottie’s Place is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 1999 providing programs that assist children affected by poverty and conflict. All programs are offered free of charge to all participants and are funded by private, civic, corporate, foundation and church-based charitable donations. With the mission to empower and educate our most vulnerable children, Scottie’s Place blends educational programs with wilderness adventure and mentoring relationships. The overarching objective is to help children and youth develop the abilities that will lead them out of their vulnerable circumstances and onto a path of productivity and positive impact; that will assist them in breaking the generational chain of poverty and becoming a resource within their communities.
